Still waiting for this sucker to make its turn to the east - otherwise we may get to run the generators so I can keep up with you guys over the weekend.

Keep your heads down and let's hop there's no "tumble down shack in Virginia Beach"

Okay, that was weak. Work is weaker right now.

Hey Chris -

Octopus is great, I'm pretty good friends with Kyle their lead guitar player. I ran into him the other night at Doc Taylor's at the Bobby Lee Rodgers Trio show.

Completely forgot you were up here - I'll give you a call before the next show. Next up for me and Mrs. Mando is Tears For Fears at the NORVA on Saturday (provided it's still standing....) The latest track had Earl swinging ever so slowly - the western edge of the most dangerous semicircle was moved about 40 miles west of Va Beach - I'm figuring we are going to see sustained winds up close to 50-55 mph.

I hope I get to hunt for my food for a few days..........better dust off the Marlin .444 - because everyone needs a rifle with 1 1/2 tons of muzzle energy.

Ha! I thought you were speaking of our old friend here, "Earl", the poster.

But, best of luck; I know YOU are prepared; you're better than any BoyScout I ever heard of...hope whatever comes isn't too rough on the crops and the like.

Best to Mrs Mando through it all...

Keeping my eye on the track - my folks are in Emerald Isle, NC, right at the point and one street back from the water. Stay safe and dry!

As long as it's gone by Monday night for the VT-Boise State game.

My METOC buddies at work are a little antsy that the storm system over the Ohio Valley hasn't moved in quickly enough to push Earl's track to the east. I'll feel better once it makes the turn and hits the western wall of the Gulf Stream and the warm core eddies - then it should turn sharp like a fat kid on a bag of Krispy Kremes.

Happy storm weathering, Mando!

What do your METOC buddies think is going to happen when one of these hurricanes hits the Gulf and picks up all that suspended oil instead of going up the East Coast...?
